Good Haloween fun. We did this last weekend and it's a blast. You can get *really* lost if you don't have a good method for negotiating mazes.
and of course you can get pumpkins there as well :)
We went north of Petaluma this weekend in search of Pumpkins. Normally we go to Cardoza's Ranch in Sonoma, but mysteriously, they seemed not to be catering to folks like us.
So, with slightly less ambiance, but by far the best cornfield maze i've ever been in, we settled for the one off of US101.
It's a good maze. It covers probably about two football fields.
Two years ago we did this maze and we got stuck and had to consult a map to get out after about 45 minutes inside the thing. This year, I stuck to my theory that the surest way out of a maze is to only turn in one direction. So, there was sort of the family battle of philosophies about going in the wrong direction. But I maintained that this should work (I hoped), or I'd be snacking on one of those crows.
Not sure how well this photo came out but you should be able to zoom in/ get full res of this pic, and see the size of the maze, and maybe find the solution as well.
The entrance is right by that 'shack' at the lower right. The exit just above it. You can see the lovely view of the freeway as well...
I'll have to update when we actually carve them...
